Star 104.5 logoFewer than 400 of more than 1,300 families were remaining to adopt Friday morning during the seventh annual Adopt-A-Family Radioathon on KSRZ (104.5 FM).

The two-day campaign in conjunction with the Salvation Army recruits listeners to adopt and provide gifts for less fortunate Omaha families during the holidays.

Star 104.5 personalities, including morning duo Glennboy and Glo, host the radioathon that runs 12 hours each day (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Last year, more than 1,700 families were adopted and the program has raised more than $800,000 in its six years. In 2003 and 2004, it earned a Silver Award for Service to Children from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association.
