Celebrity Dance Contest Benefits Food Bank

In what is being billed as "Omaha's first celebrity dance contest," media personalities will show off their best moves to raise money for the Omaha Food Bank.

The "Swingin' a Star" benefit is Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Nico, 112th & Davenport. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the dance contest starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance (buy at Homer's music stores and etix.com) or $18 at the door.

The night will also feature music by Omaha's nationally-known swing band, Prairie Cats, and the fine footwork of the Omaha Jitterbugs.

Among the media personalities scheduled to participate are Calvert Collins (KPTM), Cory Rangel (KMTV), Jana Murrell and Brandi Petersen (KETV), Kay Kriss and Jack Swanda (KLTQ) and Sheila Brummer (WOWT).
