Former KETV and KMTV news anchor Michael Scott is out at KCTV in Kansas City, according to a person who answered the phone at the station after Friday's 10 p.m. newscast.
Scott had been co-anchoring the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts with Karen Fuller. However, Friday - one day after the November ratings period ended - Scott was a no-show and his bio had been removed from the station's website.
Scott started at KCTV (CBS) in August of 2004. He arrived in Kansas City from WBTV in Charlotte, N.C., and previously spent four years at KXAS in Dallas, anchoring and reporting for that city's highest-rated morning newscast.
He is perhaps best known for his close encounter with a gecko (pictured at right) on a live broadcast on KXAS in 2002.
Another former Omaha TV personality, Brad Stevens, anchors KCTV's 4 p.m. news and is a general assignment reporter. Stevens could not be reached for comment Friday night.

WTF?
That was hilarious!
I hope KMTV rehires him just so we can watch him do one of those fake "I'm so glad to be back in Omaha" promos. just like he did ten years ago, when the Entertainment Tonight gig fell through, and he had to come crawling back to Omaha.
I have my "Michael Scott repellent" on. Hopefully it works and he won't be landing in my neck of the woods.
Good riddance. Kansas City is better off without him. His ego was, well, enormous. He won't be missed.
Well, he does have a nice smile. Betcha' the guy is a real babe magnet.
Heck, if I had my front teeth and was 50 pounds lighter I might be a babe magnet, also.
