Former KETV (Cox Channel 9) News Director Ray Depa has been hired as general manager at Huntsville, Ala., ABC affiliate WAAY.Huntsville is the 84th largest TV market in the country, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Last April, Depa resigned as general manager of KGUN in Tucson, Ariz.
While in Omaha, Depa helped found the Crime Stoppers program. He worked as a reporter and anchor at WOWT from 1970 to 1979. The 1970 University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate also worked in television in Kansas (KAKE) and Hawaii (KGMB) and in radio in Missouri at Springfield station WMAY.

Many thanks for the mention....however, one correction. I was News Director at KETV. Gary Nielsen was the GM. Gary, the by way, is the GM at KVOA in Tucson. We were competitors for the past four years.
