Tribute Surprises Sadlemyer

Gary SadlemyerColleagues, celebrities and family members paid tribute to KFAB (1110 AM) morning radio host Gary Sadlemyer this morning as he marked 30 years at the station.

Sadlemyer, who also serves as the station's program director, has the distinction of hosting the first live talk show on KFAB. He gained recognition for his work on Nebraska football broadcasts from 1981 to 1995.

This morning, Sadlemyer was surprised by guest callers that included his wife, Rose Ann, and sister, along with a special musical tribute (click here to listen). Morning show producer Roger Olson and a host of others at the station helped line up the interviews and celebrity tributes.

It was great to hear Lyell Bremser and Walt Cavanaugh call in this morning. I sure miss those guys.

I wish Jim Rose would quit calling him "Saddler"! It is so disrespectful and stupid!

Isn't that the name of the basketball coach at Nebraska?
