KGOR Goes All-Christmas, All-The-Time

KGOR logo, courtesy of KGOR.comOmaha's KGOR (99.9 FM) made the switch to an all-Christmas music format this week.

The Clear Channel-owned station has relied on its oldies format to rank near the top of the Omaha metropolitan radio ratings in the 12+ listener demographic.

Another Clear Channel station, KLMY (106.3 FM) in Lincoln, began playing Christmas music around the clock Monday.

Sounds of the season?

Yeah, I do agree that endless-loop Jingle Bell Rock and that ilk grows very old very fast, but ... and this I just noticed the past few days ...

Is it really necessary to punctuate news reports, weather reports, sports reports, commercials, whatever with that inane fakey-sounding turkey gobbling sound? Speaking of something that gets very old very fast! :(

(Yeah I know, b*tch b*tch b*tch!) :)
