Notes From The Laptop

KETV (Cox Channel 9) reporter Farrah Fazal notified Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey of Elkhorn's decision to continue fighting annexation. Fazal approached Fahey as he sat courtside during Thursday night's Creighton University men's basketball game at the Qwest Center.

KFAB (1110 AM) talk show host Tom Becka's rendition of a state song for Nebraska, "The Eastern Nebraska State Song" was the 97th most viewed video on YouTube Thursday.

Former "KPTM Kid's Club" host Theresa Cassaday is now serving as Chief Communications Officer for the Girls Scouts Great Plains Council.

In regards to Tom Becka's EASTERN NEBRASKA SONG: Why is there so much animosity between eastern and western Nebraska, particularly Omaha, Lincoln and the western half of this state? Having lived in both areas and having a distinct knowledge of both areas, both have their charms and their drawbacks. It would be nice to see more people on the eastern end of the state actually take pride in what is in the west and those in the west actually realize that Omaha is not nearly as dangerous as they think it is. Ignorance breeds...people...ignorance breeds. Please learn more about the state you live in. There are some very wonderful sights out west and there are some outstanding attractions in the east. Quit biting at each other and realize that each side has its good points. Geez, does there always have to be so much negativity?

Western Nebraska bites. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

And I gaurantee that you've never been there or appreciated some of the serene beauty of one of the most renowned natural wonders; the Sandhills. But then I wouldn't expect anything more from city dwellers. Sad really.

In regards to Matt Perrault's BIG SHOW; It's too bad that he has to get the former Huskers to appear because Pederson and the University won't give him the time of day. This guy is good folks and has the best sports show on the air in Omaha in some time. C'mon UNL throw this guy a bone; everyone else listens to him.

I know Farrah Fazal got hammered a lot on Ted's Blog, but I think she and KETV deserve some credit here for getting Mayor Fahey's reaction to the Elkhorn decision. I watched all three stations and I only recall seeing Mayor Fahey's reaction on Channel 7. It was a good balance to all the emotion from Elkhorn.

Isn't Sean giving Farrah credit by mentioning her?

I think Action3News even ran a crawl about the decision during prime time last night.

KETV deserves the credit, Fazal just goes where she's told I imagine...

Everyone else listens to Perrault?!?!?

Don't think so. You need to move a ways up the dial to find the sports show people are listening to.

This hack Perrault doesn't hold a candle to Kugler & Severe.

Oh, I wasn't talking about the countryside out yonder, I was talking about the people.

Supreme Commander:

I'll agree with you on that.

The Big Show is fantastic! At least this guy is not a homer. C'Mon Big Red, listen to a more objective point of view for once.

Theresa Cassidy; now there's a good role model for so many young girls. (Note the sarcasm.)
