Don't worry, once this market is metered it will be nuetral...and look a hell of a lot different. I am guessing it will go 7, 6 then 3 but be a lot tighter than the bullshit way they do it now.
True that diaries have their flaws--but its amazing how the conspiracy has worked in 6's favor for the last decade or so. Im sure that 6 and Nielsen have it all worked out. Get real. Pretty clear trend over time. 6 generally with a slight lead over 7. 3 is at the bottom of the pile. 7 has enjoyed some good books over the years -- are those skewed ?You sound like a Dallas Mavericks fan - the refs stole it from you. What kills me is the way Sean takes the KM spinmeisters at their word as they try to explain away another miserable book. Maybe you can critique the quality of 6 and argue who covers stuff better, but there is one objective source for ratings and thats the reality.+
In order to remain objective (though this is a column), I take people "at their word" while providing the facts that are available as well.
In the case of KMTV, the prior general manager often tried "spinning" the ratings in his favor - not only to me, but also to advertisers. The latter didn't buy it - literally.
Wow! Sean's column has way less spin than what the OWH prints. In the past, it appeared to simply reprint the press release that General Jim would send out. My washing machine was jealous!

Do us a favor and give us a neutral analysis -- not the KMTV propoganda that somehow spins their miserable third place finish into something positive.
