Like usual, most people are clueless about the situation. In other words, go out in your car in 8" of heavy snow, get high centered and stuck, abandon your car and blame it on the city. Doesn't matter that your poor judgement, which resulted in leaving a car in the middle of the street, slowed the snow plows down more than the snow.

This snow was probably the worst I've ever seen to deal with. Out in the country we had severe drifting problems for 3 consecutive days, which is very unusual.

For all that gave the city an F, you ought to run a plow truck for 2 hours, you would understand reality instead of wishful thinking.

In the country, drifting concerns are certainly valid. I grew up in a rural area. I get that. In town, however, it's a cop-out. It's hard to believe that wind whips through the subdivisions of Omaha hard enough to drift streets closed.

Nice excuse, but it doesn't fly here. Sorry, Omaha. You suck at snow removal.

(and I'm not even from Elkhorn. ha!)

You're such an arrogant person! Yeah, I bet you grew up in a rural area, so I guess that makes you superior enough to comment on a situation like a blizzard. Shut up and get over yourself! Yeah, I bet you've been through many blizzards!
Where the hell have you been? Have you seen or felt the winds, have you seen the subdivisions with cars stuck all over and snow drifts as high as your car? Who the hell do you think you are commenting on a situation in which people's lives are on the line. You say snow removal sucks in Omaha, well, you suck as well! I agree, Omaha needs to improve their ways in clearing the roads, but it's arrogant, uninformed people like you who make life tough! If you don't like the way the roads are plowed, you get your ass out there and do it yourself! Try walking in the footsteps of others who do the dirty work before you even think about having an opinion. Grow up and get over it! Good God!

go to 43rd and Wakely in the middle of Omaha, and it's not plowed yet.

F - Omaha Plow crews, it's Monday and still no plows.

I feel I can make an informed opinion of the snow removal in this city having lived in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The road clearing in this city does leave a lot to be desired and I think they need to study how other cities, such as Minneapolis, clear their streets very quickly. I also would say that under ex-mayor Daub, the streets were clear quicker than under Fahey. Just an observation.

I grew up in north-central Iowa. It's nothing BUT windy up there in a storm. There are no hills -- just wide-open fields. I know about drifts, both on country roads and in town. And in tightly packed subdivisions, especially in west Omaha, drifting isn't a realistic concern. Knee-high drifts shouldn't stymie a snowplow.

But seriously, though. Settle down. You're going to have a heart attack.

I don't know why everyone is still complaining. It never was great, and it never will be. I prepared for this...I bought a monster truck. When you see me in the the "Jack Hammer" --sponsored by Summit Racing barreling down 480, get out of the way.
