What Happened To TJ?

TJ from KGORSeveral KGOR (99.9 FM) listeners have written The Reader's Media Notes, asking what happened to "TJ," the station's morning show personality.

Clear Channel Omaha General Manager Mitch Baker won't say specifically whether TJ has left the station, but did say the station is "looking at several exciting options and an announcement is forthcoming."

Since Monday, legendary radio personality Dave Wingert has been handling the morning shift on KGOR. A member of the Nebraska Radio Personalities Hall of Fame, Wingert has worked at Omaha radio stations WOW, KQKQ, KEFM, and KGOR, in Des Moines at WHO, and in Seattle at KLSY - hosting the nationally-syndicated show, "Dave 'Till Dawn."

TJ has worked for several Clear Channel stations over the past four years, including KXKT (103.7 FM), KEFM (96.1 FM) and KHUS (93.3 FM).

Is it an actual opening? Or has the new host already been chosen and Clear Channel is just posting it for EEO/EOE purposes?

I didn't know that TJ was still on the air, actually. It is a surprise to know he was still doing a show, and a bigger surprise to know that he was fired from it.

Back to my XM Radio....

Hopefully, he didn't hit anyone on the way out.

Looks like the person posting above has worked at 5010 Underwood before. I have heard that he is a very angry person off-air. Very sad.

Working at Clear Channel, I can say that TJ was great on the air, but in person was very troubled and angry. I'm not too surprised that he was let go.

As for replacement, Dave Wingert, a hall of fame radio personality who spent the last 18 years in Seattle, has been subbing alongside Drew Bentley. Whether Wingert is a temporary solution or the permanent replacement is anybodys guess,.

Among the stations Dave has worked at, you have forgotten KEDS 1490 AM in Omaha.
