The Omaha City Council's vote next week on a resolution to request a public apology from Omaha radio station KFAB (1110 AM) barely registered on KFAB program director Gary Sadlemyer's radar.
"Nothing's changed," Sadlemyer said Friday. "We've moved so far beyond this."
The station removed the commercial parody from its website more than a week ago and hasn't broadcast the spot in more than 10 days, according to evening drive time talk show host Tom Becka. It was Becka and his staff that originally created the satirical spot that spoofs a "Discover North Omaha" campaign.
Sadlemyer said station management stands behind Becka.
"We're very supportive of Tom," he said.

Good for KFAB! The city council shouldn't be poking their nose into an issue that has already been dealt with. The station pulled the parody. Nuff said! Would this be such an issue if it occured in January of a non election year?? Doubt it.
Not sure how this affects polotics as Becka and Brown and most of the North O people are Liberals.
Brown wants to make this more a black v. White issue.
WAY TO GO KFAB ! ! ! ! Very Proud of the Media for once.

Silly. This is being blown way out of proportion. Must be a slow news month in Omaha and a slow month at the council chambers.
Don't you DARE let them force you to apologize, Tom. And kudos to KFAB for defending a little something called FREE SPEECH.
the whole contrverse is built around racsium not ONCE did becka mention anything about color or nationality!
GOOD FOR YOU! GO KFAB
Brown should know better....a former reporter. He should know a lot better. Stand strong KFAB!!!! This is an editorial that got people talking. Grant it may have gone a little over the line.
The city council should spend time finding a way to fix problems in our city instead of whining.....how long will they spend debating this one in their Tuesday meeting. They should have better things to do....find a way to fix the problems in your district Frank.
Our council makes the city look like a joke...not KFAB!
I'm so glad the city council wasted time to try to get an apology from the station. I'm so tired of hearing about this. The parody was mildly funny at best and North Omaha IS scary. Let's get mad over things that are true...BRILLIANT!
I think it would be a good idea for Becka supporters to attend the City Council meeting on the 17th. Hopefully, they will let the public speak their minds before they vote to quell Tom Becka's (and KFAB's) right to free speech. If you don't like it, change the channel. I find radio and T.V. content to be offensive, but I don't go up in arms over it...I change the channel! 26 murders in Omaha this year alone, and the City Council decides to focus their efforts on this issue?!?! Ugh!
