KXVO Names New Host

Matt GeilerKXVO (Cox Channel 11) announced this afternoon that Matt Geiler will be the new host of the "KXVO 15 10:00 News."

Geiler's biography says he's performed at more than 600 comedy clubs, corporate gigs and colleges throughout the country. He is a graduate of "Second City" in Chicago and has voiced and acted in a number of radio and TV commercials.

"He was named best host at the 2002 Best New Talent Awards in Los Angeles," KXVO News Director Allen Beckner said. "As you can tell, Matt brings a lot of experience and creativity to the show."

Geiler makes his debut tonight.

I saw the KXVO News tonight with low hopes and was suprised. The new guy did the best news cast on KXVO ever. This station may have a chance now with the CW and a new news anchor. Before it seemed like the show was ill prepared. KXVO and KPTM are both owned by the same company and they made it apparent at unflattering moments. However they seem to be growing in the right direction. Both for them and the Omaha market. Now I may like them more then KMTV but time will tell. Omaha has a growing independent music industry and culture. The other stations look at Omaha as a small town starter market. It is a little ironic but the station that has been spining its wheels has made a breakthrough. Good job KXVO

I think he is much better than McFayden..I've heard he's out of Chicago's Second City, which is where a lot of SNL alumns like Will Ferrel and Mike Myers were from. I think good things could come out this version of the show..

I grew up with Mr. Geiler and he has always been a creative, energenic guy. That being said, I never really found him to be that funny. I guess his humor is just too clean for me. Sharpen your tongue Matt and sling some mud. Be more like David Spade and less like John Henson and I will watch every night. Good luck.
